New Delhi, April 23: Dhruv Shyoran has solidified his lead at the DP World PGTI Players Championship, taking place in Nuh, Haryana. After the third round, he stands at an impressive 15-under 201, three shots ahead of the competition.
The 31-year-old from Gurugram delivered an outstanding performance with a score of six-under 66 in the third round, marking his second consecutive round of 66. Shyoran showcased exceptional skill, maintaining his lead throughout the round without any major mistakes.
He started strong, making four consecutive birdies from the second to the fifth hole, which set the tone for his round. He further strengthened his position by adding birdies on the 10th and 11th holes.
In second place is Sunit Chaurasia, who returned from a long injury layoff earlier this year. Chaurasia, from Kolkata, has a total score of 12-under 204 after scoring four-under 68 in the third round, which included five birdies and one bogey. He remains in contention for the title ahead of the final round.
Jointly in third place are Akshay Sharma and Jamal Hussain, both at 11-under 205. They are still in the mix and could pose a challenge in the final round. In fifth place is Mani Ram, with a score of 9-under 207, while Harman Sachdeva, Mohammad Sanju, Om Prakash Chauhan, and Sukra Bahadur Rai occupy the sixth position.
Reflecting on his performance, Shyoran stated that the initial four birdies provided him with great momentum, boosting his confidence. He emphasized that he is not overly focused on his position but rather on improving his game each day. With only one round left in the tournament, Shyoran aims to maintain his lead and secure the championship, while other players will strive to create an exciting finish.
