Ayodhya, July 30: The first day of the holy Sawan month has brought a wave of devotion among Shiva devotees in Uttar Pradesh. Early this morning, a massive influx of worshippers gathered at the ancient Nageshwar Nath Temple in Ayodhya and the renowned Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. Pilgrims from various states have come to perform the water offering to Lord Shiva, seeking peace, happiness, and prosperity. The temple premises resonated with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bam Bam Bhole,” creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Sunil Pandey, a devotee from Delhi, shared that he specifically came to visit Baba Nageshwar Nath on this auspicious day. After bathing in the Saryu River, he offered water to the Shiva Lingam and planned to visit Hanumangarhi next. He frequently visits Ayodhya and believes that Lord Shiva is quick to bless his devotees, and sincere worship always yields results.
Another devotee, Ganesh Goswami, emphasized the special significance of visiting Baba Nageshwar Nath on the first day of Sawan. He noted that the temple’s fame extends beyond India, attracting devotees from around the world for water offerings. He also experienced the temple’s bustling crowd, with everyone visibly excited to have a glimpse of Lord Shiva.
A female devotee mentioned that the number of worshippers on this first Monday of Sawan is significantly higher than on regular days. She stated that while the Nageshwar Nath Temple usually sees a large number of visitors, the enthusiasm during Sawan is particularly remarkable. Regular visits to the temple bring her peace of mind through the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Similarly, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi also witnessed a large turnout of devotees on the first day of Sawan. A pilgrim from Amritsar shared that he felt inspired to visit the temple a week ago and was experiencing Kashi Vishwanath for the first time. He expressed immense joy upon arrival and extended best wishes for the Sawan month to fellow countrymen. He praised the security and administrative arrangements at the temple, noting that provisions for the comfort of devotees have been well organized.
Another devotee remarked that Sawan is considered a beloved month of Lord Bholenath, marking the beginning of a month-long religious festival. He anticipated that the number of devotees would increase in the coming days. The arrangements made by the administration for safety, crowd management, and darshan have been satisfactory.
