Rewa, February 9: The pace of development in the industrial area of Guh, located in Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh, has slowed significantly. This issue was highlighted during a meeting with state Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, who expressed his dissatisfaction with the progress made. He issued a stern warning that negligence will not be tolerated.
On Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Shukla reviewed the ongoing development projects in the Guh industrial area at the ministry. He directed the municipal council and the industrial sector to expedite the ambitious water supply project.
This project, costing ₹16 crore, has so far only seen ₹7 crore worth of work completed. Once finished, it will provide five million liters per day (MLD) of water to both the municipal council and the Guh industrial area. The completion of this project is expected to strengthen the water supply system in the Guh area and promote industrial growth.
Shukla emphasized that for any industrial area to develop properly, essential services such as electricity, water, roads, and drainage must be robust. He instructed officials to prioritize the development of the Guh industrial area and to ensure immediate and effective action for the expansion of electricity, roads, water, and other necessary services.
He also directed senior officials to conduct regular reviews of the development projects, stating that any form of negligence in this work is unacceptable. Shukla noted that the comprehensive development of the Guh industrial area will not only enhance Rewa district’s industrial identity but will also create substantial employment opportunities for local youth.
Rajendra Shukla mentioned that the establishment of industries will increase both direct and indirect employment, thereby strengthening the region’s economic status. He urged all relevant departments to work in coordination. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Chandramouli Shukla, Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC).
