Delivering on peoples’ aspiration a challenge: Yogi

Lucknow, April 6 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said delivering on people’s aspirations riding on which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returned to power, will be a big challenge. Addressing the party workers on the 42nd Foundation Day of the party, Yogi said, “We should remain prepared to pass a test every day on the aspirations of the people who gave us two-third majority in the assembly polls.” He said that in the last five years BJP gave several models to Uttar Pradesh “after an exile of 14 years, in 2017 when under the leadership and appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi people extended their support”. “In five years with an excellent coordination between the government and the organisation BJP worked in the interest of every section of society, including the poor, farmers, women and youths, without any discrimination. Due to this principle, BJP retained power in 2022. “For us its a big challenge to deliver successfully on the voters’ aspirations.” He said, “Before polls we issued a ‘Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra’. We have to consider every word of the Sankalp Patra as a mantra and work accordingly.” Adityanath’s statement on manifesto came a day after in Parliament, Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu agreed with RJP MP Manoj Jha’s demand that election manifestoes must be made binding, and both the ruling and opposition parties must seriously consider it. The CM said whether it was providing houses to 43.5 lakh poor or constructing 2.61 crore toilets, free ration to 15 crore people during the corona pandemic twice a month or providing government jobs to five lakh youths, the government worked with pure honesty and commitment. He said that BJP is the only party which promotes the theory of nation first. “For us the country is supreme and the party is secondary. We provided benefits of the government schemes to the person sitting last in the line without discrimination and not on the basis of caste, face, language and region,” he said. The chief minister said: “After 2014 for the first time the country witnessed toilets being constructed in 12 crore houses, houses were provided to three crore poor families, schemes like ‘Mudra Yojna’ was launched for employment to women and youths, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is announced to rid 12 crore farmers from debts and free health cover is provided to six crore people under Ayushman Bharat scheme.” He said that the world had seen the excellent corona management model of the Modi government during the pandemic to save 135 crore lives. “Free tests, free treatment and free vaccines were provided to the people. So far 185 crore vaccine doses have been administered. “Every pandemic has its side effects. In every pandemic more deaths take place due to starvation as compared to disease. It is for the first time that efforts have been made to ensure that minimum deaths occur due to disease and a free ration facility is extended to ensure that no death takes place due to starvation. This presents a new picture of new India.” On the occasion of Foundation Day BJP’s flag was hoisted at 9 am at the party’s state headquarters in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state party president and Minister Swatantra Dev Singh. Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, State General Secretary (Organization) S l Bansal and other senior leaders and workers were present. After this the ‘shobha yatra’ processions by the leaders started in which hundreds of BJP workers participated and Adityanath led others in paying tributes to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s statue at the Atal crossing.
