New Delhi, September 3 (Daily Kiran) : During a protest organized by the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) at Jantar Mantar, a man sustained an injury that has sparked rumors on social media. The Delhi Police conducted a fact-check regarding the incident, providing detailed information through the official X handle of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for New Delhi.
On June 23, Sanjay Kumar, a 38-year-old resident of Ghaziabad, suffered a head injury during the protest. The DCP explained that the injury was caused by a bracelet worn by one of the alleged assailants during a scuffle.
The police clarified that no weapon was involved in the incident. According to a medical examination conducted by doctors at RML Hospital, the injuries were minor and resulted from the bracelet, not from any weapon. The claim of a skull fracture was described as unfounded and inconsistent with the medical findings.
Additionally, the police provided information regarding legal actions taken in this case. Based on Sanjay Kumar’s statement, a case was registered at the Parliament Street police station under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The police reported that two individuals, Suraj Kumar, 24, and Independ Bhardwaj, 21, were detained from the scene and subsequently questioned. They have been issued notices in accordance with the law, and appropriate legal actions are underway, with a charge sheet expected to be filed in a competent court soon.
The DCP also refuted allegations of undue influence and pressure on the police regarding the case. The post emphasized that claims of any improper influence or interference were factually incorrect and baseless, asserting that actions taken were strictly in accordance with the law and procedures.
