Delhi Police Arrest Three Suspects in Gokulpuri Robbery Case
Three individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery in Gokulpuri, New Delhi, including a suspect with a lengthy criminal record.
Gokulpuri, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Police have apprehended three individuals in connection with a robbery that took place in the Gokulpuri area of Northeast Delhi. Among those arrested is a local criminal already linked to twelve prior offenses. Authorities recovered a stolen mobile phone and a motorcycle used in the crime.
The incident occurred on October 28. The victim, 27-year-old Abhishek, was collecting garbage near Street Number 13 in Bhagirathi Vihar around 8 AM when three unidentified assailants approached him. They snatched his mobile phone and fled the scene.
Following the complaint, police registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the Gokulpuri police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and initiated an investigation.
A special team was formed under the supervision of senior officers to probe the case. They reviewed CCTV footage from the surrounding area, which led to the identification of three suspects on a motorcycle. The team conducted raids at various locations linked to the suspects and successfully arrested them.
The suspects have been identified as Rahul (36), a resident of Old Mustafabad, Abbas alias Tota (26), and Shoaib alias Abbas (18), both from Bhagirathi Vihar. During questioning, the suspects admitted their involvement in the robbery, and the victim’s mobile phone was recovered based on their information. The police also seized the motorcycle used in the crime, which lacked a registration number.
Further checks revealed that Abbas alias Tota is a “registered bad character” at the Gokulpuri police station, previously implicated in twelve cases related to robbery, snatching, and the Arms Act. The other two suspects, Rahul and Shoaib, also have two previous cases each against them concerning similar offenses.
The recovery of the stolen mobile phone and the motorcycle is a significant aspect of the ongoing investigation. Police are continuing to gather evidence to clarify the circumstances of the robbery and the roles of the suspects involved.
