Delhi Police Arrest Notorious Thief, Recover Stolen Goods

New Delhi, May 7: A team from the Delhi Police has apprehended a notorious thief and recovered several stolen items, including a gas cylinder. This operation was conducted by the Palam Village police station.

The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Rajat, also known as “Budha,” a resident of the Harijan Basti on Nasirpur Road in Mahavir Enclave. According to police reports, the recovered items include a gas cylinder, two mobile phones, an Aadhaar card, two birth certificates, a bank passbook, a bag, and clothing.

Police officials stated that an e-FIR regarding the theft was registered at the Palam Village police station on April 27. To investigate the case, a team led by ASI Virender, Head Constable Harender, Sandeep, and Krishna was formed under the supervision of Station House Officer Anant Dhanraj Singh, with oversight from ACP Anil Kumar of Delhi Cantt.

During the investigation, the police activated informants, utilized technical surveillance, and reviewed CCTV footage from various locations. Based on this footage, the suspect was identified. On May 2, police received information that the suspect was in the Palam Village area. Subsequently, the police team set a trap and arrested him. During interrogation, stolen items were recovered based on the suspect’s indications.

According to police, the suspect has a history of alcohol addiction and works as a rented rickshaw driver. His addiction and desire for quick money led him to target empty and vulnerable homes for theft. The suspect has previously been involved in a case under the NDPS Act. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
