Delhi court issues notice to CBI on Look out Circular against ex-Amnesty International India Chief Aakar Patel

New Delhi, April 6 : A local court on Wednesday sought a response from CBI on an application of former Amnesty International India Chief Aakar Patel against a Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against him. Patel is allegedly involved in a case of violation of Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (FCRA). He alleged that while he was boarding a flight to the US, he was stopped by the immigration authorities at Bangalore International Airport. Counsel for Patel submitted that despite an order by a Gujarat Court granting him permission to travel to the US, action was taken against him. The Counsel requested the court to grant him permission to visit the US, to take up his foreign assignment and lecture series organised by various versities till May 30. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Pawan Kumar adjourned the matter for April 7, for further hearing. XC RJ
