Kolkata, March 19 : Cricket Association of Bengal president Avishek Dalmiya on Saturday congratulated Jhulan Goswami after veteran Indian pacer became the second woman cricketer to play 200 ODI matches. In the process, she joined her teammate Mithali Raj in the elite list. The World Cup match against Australia marked the 200th ODI in Goswami’s career, that began in 2002 against England in Chennai. Speaking of the feat, Dalmiya said: “You can only look up in awe and admiration. A couple of days back she set two milestones. Today she joins the select club of women cricketers with 200 appearances. This World Cup is becoming a very special one for Jhulan Goswami.” Mithali Raj led the list with 230 ODI appearances for India. Goswami also became the highest wicket-taker in Women’s World Cups in the match against West Indies when she took her tally to 40. In the last match she also touched the 250 mark becoming the highest wicket taker in the women’s ODIs. PC SSP
