Controversy Erupts Over Poster During BJP March in Indore
A poster criticizing corruption sparked controversy during a BJP march in Indore, leading to the arrest of a protester.

Indore, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : A recent march organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Indore, aimed at promoting democracy and addressing chaos, turned contentious over a provocative poster. The event, part of the “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy” campaign, featured a participant holding a sign that accused local authorities of corruption.
The march, which stretched from Subhash Nagar to Patnipura Square, coincided with a public gathering where Kailash Vijayvargiya, the state’s urban administration minister, was speaking. During his address, a man named Prahlad Pandey stood up with a poster that read, “One bulb costs ₹30,000 and one liter of phenyl costs ₹33,000. Answer us.”
Vijayvargiya abruptly halted his speech, declaring, “A nuisance has arrived.” He then called for police assistance, stating, “We will answer where we need to, but if this person continues, he should be taken away.” The police swiftly intervened, forcibly escorting Pandey away despite his protests. A woman accompanying him questioned the legality of his arrest.
Footage of the incident has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread reactions. This uproar follows a recent meeting among municipal officials where allegations of corruption were raised. One official disclosed that a vehicle purchased for ₹200,000 was resold to another municipal body for ₹600,000, alongside concerns over inflated costs for everyday items like buckets and bulbs.
The controversy highlights ongoing tensions surrounding accountability in local governance.
