Congress Unveils List of 40 Star Campaigners for West Bengal Elections

New Delhi, April 6: Political activities are intensifying as the West Bengal Assembly elections approach. Political parties are ramping up their preparations. In this context, the Congress party released a list of 40 star campaigners on Monday for the first phase of the elections. This list includes senior leaders from both national and state levels, aimed at creating a favorable atmosphere for the party in the electoral arena.

According to the list, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, senior leader Sonia Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will take the lead in campaigning. Additionally, Organization General Secretary K.C. Venugopal and senior leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir will also play active roles in the election campaign.

The list features notable leaders such as Subhash Sarkar, B.K. Hariprasad, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhu, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Mukul Wasnik, and Randeep Singh Surjewala, among others.

Moreover, the list includes Salman Khurshid, Shashi Tharoor, Sachin Pilot, Deepa Dasmunshi, Syed Nasir Hussain, Prof. Pradeep Bhattacharya, D.P. Rai, Isha Khan Chaudhary, Tariq Anwar, Mohammad Javed, Gaurav Gogoi, and K.L. Sharma.

Additionally, Imran Pratapgarhi, Imran Masood, Sudip Roy Burman, Kanhaiya Kumar, Alka Lamba, Uday Bhanu Chib, B.P. Singh, Amba Prasad, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Mohammad Azharuddin, Deepika Pandey Singh, Amitabh Chakraborty, Manish Tamang, and Irfan Ansari have also been designated as star campaigners.

Previously, the BJP also released a list of 40 star campaigners, which included Prime Minister Narendra Modi, central ministers, various state chief ministers, MPs, and celebrities from the film industry.

The West Bengal Assembly elections will be conducted in two phases. Voting for the first phase is scheduled for April 23, followed by the second phase on April 29. The election results will be announced on May 4. Political parties are fully mobilizing their resources for the campaign.
