Congress takes dig at Centre over fuel prices

New Delhi, April 5 : The Congress on Tuesday took a dig at the Modi government over the steep hike in prices of petrol and diesel. “The inauspicious inflation continues every day. Thirteenth installment of ‘fuel loot’. In 15 days, the prices of petrol and diesel hiked by Rs 9.20 per litre. Modiji, for how long this ‘sword’ of inflation will continue?” Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted. The Congress reaction came as the price of petrol and diesel was hiked by 80 paise per litre on Tuesday. In Delhi, petrol now costs Rs 104.61 per litre and diesel costs Rs 95.87 per litre. The Congress has asked the Centre to restore prices of petrol and diesel at the level where they were during the UPA government’s tenure. DS MR
