Congress Exposes BJPs Anti-Women Stance, Claims Surendra Rajput

Lucknow, April 15: In a recent interview, Congress leader Surendra Rajput asserted that the Congress party has revealed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) anti-women face regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill.

Rajput stated that when the Women’s Reservation Bill was unanimously passed in 2023, Congress had urged its implementation in the upcoming 2024 elections. He noted that since then, elections in 8-10 states and the Lok Sabha elections have occurred. If the Women’s Reservation Bill had been enacted, many women would have graced the Parliament and state assemblies.

He drew parallels to Rajiv Gandhi’s introduction of the Panchayati Raj Bill, which enabled 1.4 million women to serve in local governance. Rajput emphasized that the Congress party supports women’s reservation and is committed to exposing the BJP’s anti-women stance.

Commenting on Samrat Chaudhary’s swearing-in as Chief Minister of Bihar, Rajput accused the BJP of deceiving the people of Bihar. He claimed the BJP forcibly installed its Chief Minister despite the votes being cast for Nitish Kumar.

Regarding a recent alleged murder in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajput responded to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s statement, condemning the killing in the name of cow protection. He labeled those who commit such acts as terrorists, advocating for them to be treated as such. Rajput insisted that the central government bears responsibility for law and order in Jammu and Kashmir and should answer for the rising violence, warning that it could lead to chaos in the country.
