
New Delhi, June 17: During a recent Congress meeting in the national capital, former Punjab MLA and Congress leader Lakhbir Singh Lakha discussed the party’s preparations for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections. He asserted that Congress is gearing up to enter the electoral arena with full force and is confident of forming the government in Punjab in the next elections.
Lakha mentioned that the Punjab Assembly elections are not far off, with the electoral process expected to commence in the next three to four months. He emphasized that Congress is actively working on every front, from organizational strategies to electoral tactics. The party leadership has sought input and suggestions from them regarding the strategy for the Punjab elections. Lakha stated that they have shared their comprehensive strategy with the party leadership, which will decide how to approach the elections and run the campaign effectively.
The Congress leader claimed that the party’s goal is to win the Punjab Assembly elections at all costs, and extensive preparations are underway at the organizational level. He noted that party workers are being trained for the electoral environment, with a focus on raising public issues prominently.
Lakha expressed confidence in the people of Punjab, stating that the party believes voters will favor change in the upcoming elections. He highlighted that Congress will address issues related to state development, farmers, youth, and the general populace during the campaign.
Additionally, Lakha commented on the alleged sacrilege case linked to the Akal Takht and the response from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He stressed that the decisions and statements made by the Akal Takht’s Jathedar should be taken seriously. He reiterated that the Jathedar has indicated that the video in question has been examined by two different forensic labs. If anyone believes the investigation is flawed, they can approach the court. He added that any new evidence emerging on this matter would be extremely serious, but he preferred not to elaborate further at this time.
