Combine spirituality & science for human upliftment, Maha Governor to educational institutes

Pune, Apr 4 : Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of versities in the state, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, on Monday said that as the world was moving towards Artificial Intelligence (AI), students should also acquire the knowledge of ‘spiritual intelligence’ and asked educational institutions to combine spirituality and science for human upliftment. Speaking as the chief guest at inaugural function of Shrimad Bhagvad Gita Gyan Bhavan dedicated to the world’s largest philosopher Saint Dnyaneshwar-Tukaram Vishwashanti Dome, jointly organized by MIT World Peace versity and MIT Art, Design and Technology versity Rajbagh, Pune at Loni Kalbhor, he said, “Today people hold the feet of saints, not of the richest man. Because saints are engrossed in ‘sadhana’ (meditation). In the same way, students should be engaged in the work of nation building through the study of spirituality and science.” “Indian culture is immortalized by the sacrifice of saints. In the new age, there should be a combination of science and spirituality. Modern technology should be studied along with education of morality. Let us all come together for world peace,” he said. Recalling the words of Swami Vivekananda on education, the Governor asserted that students should endeavour to awaken the divinity and perfection within them through acquisition of knowledge. He asked all stakeholders to work with coordination, dedication and discipline to improve the standards of higher education. On this occasion, the Governor distributed 1.25 lakh copies of the Bhagavad Gita among the students. SP SS 1921
