Colony dwellers get house site pattas after 30 years of long wait: AP Minister

Kakinada, Mar 6 : Andhra Pradesh Minister for Agriculture and Marketing Kurasala Kannababu has said that the long cherished dreams of the dwellers of Dandu Puntha colony for issuing pattas for the sites in which they were residing for the past thirty years, were fulfilled with the intervention of Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. Addressing a function held at the Dandu Puntha area on the city outskirts here on Sunday, he said, under the instructions from the Chief Minister, as many as 165 beneficiaries were identified for regularization of the house sites and in first instalment 71 were being distributed the site regularization pattas. Claiming that the regularization process was completed expeditiously due to the coordinated functioning of both the officials and elected peoples representatives, the Minister said that regularization programme gave him the utmost satisfaction. He said it was a great achievement that people living in industrial estate area were able to get pattas for the Government lands under their occupation, each worth about Rs 10 to 15 lakhs. He advised the beneficiaries to make best use of the facility for upliftment of their families without selling the sites and disclosed that all facilities for developing the area into a model colony would be provided to them. Under Navarathnalu scheme, he said, as many as 31,000 house site pattas would be distributed to the poor people in Kakinada rural constituency alone. Kakinada MP Vanga Geeta Viswanath who was the guest of honour has complimented the Minister Kannababu for achieving success in his efforts to sanction house site pattas to Dandu Puntha residents which was pending for long.
