Mumbai, August 14: The Jharkhand CID has ramped up its investigation into alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examinations. So far, 22 individuals have been arrested, while seven others remain at large. CID teams are conducting raids across various districts to apprehend these fugitives.
According to the investigation agency, they are gathering information on the possible locations of the absconding accused, as well as their associates and contacts. The CID hopes that capturing these fugitives will unveil further links in the alleged exam fraud network. The seven individuals being sought include Aditya Pandey, Pawan Kumar Singh, Ravi Shankar Kumar, Santosh Kumar Singh, Sanand Prakash, Lalu Kumar Yadav, and Saurabh Kumar Pandey.
CID teams are executing operations at multiple locations to secure the arrests of these individuals. A significant development in the case was the arrest of former JPSC chairman L. Khiangte. Additionally, the former deputy exam controller Shweta Kumari Gupta, director of the exam conducting agency TDPPL Manoj Kumar Tiwari (alias Abhay Kumar Tiwari), marketing manager Ramveer Singh, technical programmer Mohammad Usman, and Mohammad Ebad have also been apprehended.
During the investigation, the roles of agency personnel involved in exam administration and JPSC staff have come to light. The CID has arrested Hemant Verma, Pradeep Kumar Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Sonu Kumar, and JPSC employee Umesh Kumar, among others. Main accused Abhay Tiwari’s associate Arvind Kumar has also been taken into custody. The investigation has revealed the involvement of agents and candidates who allegedly used unfair means to succeed in the exams.
CID has arrested Budheshwar Bhagat, Ramesh Kumar, and Umakant Uraon. Additionally, selected candidates including Roshan Kerketta, Manoj Kumar, and Rakshak Singh have been apprehended for allegedly using fraudulent methods to pass the exam. The CID has expanded its investigation to include personnel from other companies involved in exam administration. The agency has arrested Mithilesh Singh (alias R.K. Singh) from Delhi, who is linked to the exam conducting company ICN India.
Meanwhile, Arun Sharma, director of Binsys Technologies, was arrested in Mumbai. During the investigation, the CID discovered numerous documents and evidence related to the exam, including carbon copies of OMR sheets. The investigation team is now working to match these carbon copies with original records and scrutinize them to determine if there were any alterations, undue interference, or other irregularities in the exam.
