New Delhi, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan has firmly rejected the opposition’s allegations against the Election Commission and the SIR, calling them baseless. He emphasized that preparations for the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh are well underway.
In an interview, Paswan stated, “The opposition is trying to create confusion regarding the SIR and the Election Commission. Many states have countered this confusion. The public has responded to the opposition in the elections in Bengal and Bihar. If the opposition questions this, then they should also question the results in states where they have won and formed governments. This selective criticism by the opposition is unjustified.”
Paswan further remarked, “Similar accusations were made against EVMs. In states or constituencies where opposition candidates won, they did not raise concerns about the EVMs. However, when NDA candidates won, the opposition alleged tampering with the machines. The opposition is now making the electoral process a point of contention. If they have issues with the election process, why do they participate in elections? The Election Commission has responded to their queries, yet opposition leaders continue to spread confusion.”
Regarding the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Paswan confirmed, “We are fully prepared to contest this election. It is certain that the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will participate in Uttar Pradesh. It is too early to comment on the nature of any alliances. However, we are committed to contesting strongly across all 403 seats. Whether we enter an alliance or run independently, our party is ready. We have the support of the youth in Uttar Pradesh, as demonstrated in our recent events.”
