Motihari, May 17: The 47th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), stationed at the India-Nepal border, has apprehended a Chinese national attempting to enter India illegally at the Raxaul-Birgunj Friendship Bridge. Authorities are currently interrogating the individual.
Reports indicate that the detained foreign national was trying to enter Bihar without a valid Indian visa. During initial questioning, he identified himself as a businessman involved in the toy trade. He had reached the Chitwan region of Nepal after arriving in Kathmandu on May 11 and was attempting to cross into India via the Raxaul border. He was taken into custody while moving from the Indian customs area towards Raxaul city. His inability to communicate in any language other than Chinese has complicated the interrogation process.
The individual has been identified as Yao Su Zhang, 57, from China. Authorities recovered his Chinese passport, numbered EJ 0138408. During the investigation, he failed to present any valid visa documents related to his entry into India. Security agencies stationed at the border are taking this matter seriously, probing the true purpose of the Chinese national’s visit, his contacts, and potential activities.
Following the interrogation, he is expected to be handed over to the relevant police station for legal action. An official from Raxaul confirmed that a Chinese national has been detained for illegal entry into Bihar, and legal proceedings are underway as per regulations.
