Chinese Mens Badminton Team Clinches Thomas Cup for the 12th Time

Beijing, May 4: The Chinese men’s badminton team triumphed in the Thomas Cup by defeating the French team 3-1 in the finals held in Denmark on May 3. This victory marks China’s 12th title in the prestigious World Men’s Badminton Team Championship.

After the match, Chinese player Shi Yuqi, who is currently ranked first in men’s singles, expressed his joy at winning the opening match of the finals. He stated, “I did not feel much pressure. I have strong confidence in myself and my teammates.”

Chinese player Wan Hongyan secured the final singles match, contributing to the team’s victory. He remarked, “I prepared thoroughly for the competition and maintained a stable mindset, which allowed me to perform better.”

In contrast, the Chinese women’s team faced disappointment in the Uber Cup finals, losing to South Korea with a score of 1-3, settling for second place.
