
Lucknow, May 14: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken note of the damage caused by storms and lightning in Uttar Pradesh. Over the past 24 hours, several districts in the state have reported loss of life, injuries to livestock, and damage to numerous homes.
CM Yogi has instructed officials to provide immediate assistance to the affected individuals and to disburse compensation without delay. He has also mandated that districts provide updates on the situation every three hours. Reports of casualties, livestock losses, and crop damage have emerged from 19 districts, including Barabanki, Bahraich, Kanpur Dehat, Basti, Sambhal, Hardoi, and Unnao. Additionally, the severe weather has resulted in significant structural damage to many homes.
The Chief Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He has directed district magistrates and relevant officials to conduct an immediate survey on-site to facilitate the disbursement of compensation in collaboration with the concerned departments.
Yogi Adityanath has emphasized that all district DM’s prioritize relief efforts. He has also instructed that updates regarding compensation amounts and rescue operations be shared on social media. Furthermore, all districts are required to send situation updates every three hours.
The severe storm that struck late Wednesday evening caused extensive damage across the state. Many large trees were uprooted, and several makeshift homes were flattened. There have been multiple incidents of walls collapsing, leading to fatalities in various districts. Additionally, there were reports of lightning strikes in several areas.
