Chandpurakhmariya clash: MP CM announces ex gratia

Raisen (MP), Mar 19 : One person was killed and about three dozen sustained injuries in firing and arson during a dispute between two comm ties at Chandpurakhmariya village within Silwani area. Earlier inputs quoted the fatality figure as two. Thirteen people have been taken into custody. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of Raju Adivasi; Rs 2 lakh each to grievously-injured Hari Singh, Ramji Bhai and Narendra – the last one requires ocular treatment – and Rs 50,000 each to others. Mr Chouhan visited victims – including Kamlesh Kushwaha, Anand Sahu, Rajkumar, Ravindra, Mahesh, Halke Ram and Ramesh – at the state capital’s Hamidia Hospital. They were initially rushed to infirmaries in Silwani and Udaipura. “The violence was sparked off during the intervening night following a minor dispute between two youths. Autopsy was conducted in Bhopal,” Deputy Inspector General Jagat Singh Rajput said on Saturday. Inspector General (Narmadapuram Zone) Dipika Suri, Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar Shahwal and Collector Arvind Kumar Dubey rushed to the scene.
