Chandigarh Police have issued a public notice following bomb threat emails received by several schools in the city. As a precautionary measure, from January 29 onwards, police forces will be regularly deployed inside and around all schools to prevent any untoward incidents.
The threat emails were received on Wednesday, targeting multiple schools across the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Upon receiving this information, the police took immediate action without delay.
Specialised teams including the anti-sabotage squad, bomb disposal unit, local police forces, fire brigade, ambulance services, and PCR teams promptly reached the concerned school premises. A thorough and detailed inspection of all school compounds was conducted to identify and neutralise any potential danger.
Following the comprehensive checks, no suspicious objects or explosive materials were found in any of the schools. The matter remains under investigation, and strict legal action will be taken against anyone found spreading such rumours or threats.
To ensure continued safety, Chandigarh Police have decided to maintain regular police deployment at and around all schools starting January 29, 2026. This is aimed at preventing any unpleasant incidents and ensuring smooth and secure school operations.
