Chamba, May 17: The election results for various wards of the Chuwadi Municipal Panchayat in Himachal Pradesh have been announced. According to the electoral returns released on Saturday, candidates from different wards have secured victories and claimed their positions. The election process was conducted peacefully, with winners declared after the counting of votes in all wards.
In Kudde Ward Number One, Devi won with 90 votes, while Amita Devi received 89 votes and Seema Devi garnered 84 votes. Surender Singh achieved a remarkable victory in Bhali Ward Number Two with 239 votes, defeating his opponent Kamal Kishore, who received 163 votes. Anita Kumari triumphed in Sudli Ward Number Four with 240 votes, while Nirmala Devi received 100 votes.
Rajendra Kumar won in Medical Colony Ward Number Five with 81 votes. Sushila Kumari and Sukanya Devi received 66 and 43 votes, respectively. In Chuwadi-1 Ward Number Six, Nitika Jamwal secured victory with 199 votes, while Rekha Devi received only 30 votes.
In Chuwadi-2 Ward Number Seven, Jyoti Sawal won with 122 votes. Neelam received 71 votes, Poonam Kumari got 53 votes, and Romika managed 38 votes.
Following the announcement of the election results, a celebratory atmosphere was observed among the winning candidates and their supporters. Election officials certified all winners as duly elected.
Voting took place on Sunday for four municipal corporations in Himachal Pradesh. Long queues of voters were seen at polling booths in the morning. The four municipal corporations where voting occurred include Solan, Mandi, Dharamshala, and Palampur.
In addition to the four municipal corporations, elections were also held for 25 municipal councils and 22 municipal panchayats within the state. The results for the four municipal corporations (Solan, Mandi, Palampur, and Dharamshala) will be announced on May 31.
