Ayodhya, September 27 (Daily Kiran) : A five-day service camp for the disabled was launched in Ayodhya to commemorate the centenary of Ashok Singhal, former president of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP). During the event, Mahant Rajkumar Das highlighted Singhal’s dedication to the nation and society, noting that he devoted his life to service.
Organized by the Ashok Singhal Foundation and the Mahavir Artificial Limb Implantation Institute from Jaipur, the camp provides artificial limbs and other assistive devices to individuals with disabilities. Mahant Rajkumar Das emphasized the goal of the initiative, which is to help those facing challenges with mobility, hearing, and vision, instilling new hope and confidence in their lives.
He stated, “Ashok Singhal’s entire life was devoted to Sanatan Dharma, Hindu culture, and the Vedas. On this occasion of his centenary, I pay my deepest respects to him and all the officials involved in this program.” He expressed hope that such service initiatives would inspire others to assist those in need.
Referencing the poet Kabir, Mahant Rajkumar Das spoke about the importance of understanding and alleviating the suffering of others as a true form of service. He remarked that this spirit of service was evident in Singhal’s life, which was dedicated to societal welfare.
Furthermore, he noted that Singhal’s work conveyed a powerful message about dedicating one’s life to the nation. The service camp serves as a reminder of this contribution during the centenary year.
Mahant Rajkumar Das mentioned that similar camps have been conducted for several years, aimed at providing necessary support to individuals facing various disabilities, helping them lead normal lives.
He also acknowledged Singhal’s significant role in the Ram Temple movement, stating that he worked to unite believers of Sanatan Dharma both nationally and internationally, ultimately contributing to the majestic Ram Temple seen in Ayodhya today.
The service camp, held in honor of Ashok Singhal’s centenary, aims to further his legacy of service and bring about positive changes in the lives of those in need.
