Mirzapur, March 8: A special event was held in Mirzapur to honor women’s empowerment and their contributions on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Sixty women who have made remarkable contributions in sports, entrepreneurship, and community development were recognized during this event.
The program took place at the Development Building’s meeting room on Saturday, organized by the Adani Foundation and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) Mirzapur. It began in the morning and featured participation from female athletes and rural women entrepreneurs from various sectors of the district.
During the event, 20 female athletes and 40 rural women entrepreneurs were awarded for their outstanding performances and inspirational roles in society. These women have achieved significant milestones through sports, self-employment, and community leadership.
The organizers stated that this initiative aims to acknowledge the struggles, dedication, and achievements of women who play a crucial role in community development, overcoming social and economic barriers. They believe that such initiatives not only boost women’s morale but also inspire others to recognize their potential and strive for progress.
District administration officials, NRLM representatives, members of self-help groups (SHGs), and over 40 family members of the participants were present at the event. Everyone praised the accomplishments of the award-winning women, encouraging them to continue their inspiring work for society.
Representatives from the Adani Foundation highlighted efforts to promote women’s leadership in rural areas and make them economically self-reliant. They noted that through self-help groups and entrepreneurship, rural women are not only empowering their families but also strengthening the local economy.
The program concluded with a ceremony honoring the women and motivating them to remain active in sports, entrepreneurship, and community development in the future.
