Mumbai, May 20: Director Anees Bazmee’s horror-comedy film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ has completed four successful years since its release. On this occasion, the director expressed his gratitude to the audience through social media.
Bazmee shared behind-the-scenes videos on Instagram, featuring himself alongside stars Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, Kiara Advani, and Rajpal Yadav. The clips were accompanied by the film’s title track.
In the video, Bazmee remarked, “This film will stay in my mind for a long time. I feel I contributed significantly to this project. It was a joy to create, and the beautiful memories will remain with me for years.”
While posting the video, Anees Bazmee wrote, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the immense love and warmth you all have shown towards this film. Your affection has made this journey incredibly memorable and special. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ will always hold a special place in my heart, thanks to all of you.”
‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ is a standalone sequel to the 2007 film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa,’ which starred Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. In this sequel, Kartik Aaryan is joined by Kiara Advani and Tabu.
The film’s plot revolves around Ruhaan and Reet, who arrive in Reet’s ancestral town of Bhawanigarh (Rajasthan). There, a mansion that has been closed for years opens due to a mystery, leading to the return of the spirit of ‘Manjulika’ within the Thakur family. In an attempt to exorcise the ghost, Ruhaan pretends to be ‘Rooh Baba,’ uncovering shocking secrets one by one. The film’s music was composed by Pritam and Tanishk Bagchi, featuring recreated songs like ‘Ami Je Tomar’ and the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ title track.
The film proved to be a massive hit at the box office, winning over audiences with its excellent comedy, stunning dance sequences, and suspenseful storyline.
