CBI Seizes ₹21 Lakhs in Cash and Jewelry from Hazaribagh PSU Managers Home

New Delhi, April 25: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted a raid at the residence of a manager from the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) in Hazaribagh, leading to the seizure of ₹21 lakhs in cash, jewelry, property documents, and other digital evidence linked to a corruption case. An official confirmed this information on Saturday.

The CBI stated that Ravi Ranjan Kumar was arrested on Thursday for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh. He has since been presented in a special CBI court in Ranchi, where he was remanded to judicial custody.

According to the CBI, the investigation is also looking into the involvement of other CWC officials in this corruption case. The agency filed a case against Kumar on April 23, following a complaint that he demanded a bribe to allow the continuation of work that had already been assigned to the complainant.

Taking this serious complaint into account, the CBI swiftly initiated action and set up a trap to catch the accused red-handed. During the operation, CBI officials reportedly apprehended Kumar while he was accepting the bribe from the complainant. The press release confirmed that this successful sting operation validated the allegations made by the complainant.

Officials noted that such actions reflect the agency’s ongoing commitment to combat corruption in public sector enterprises and ensure accountability among government officials.

A CBI officer stated that Kumar’s arrest is part of broader efforts to curb misconduct in administrative processes and promote transparency. The investigation is ongoing to determine if any other individuals were involved or if there is a wider pattern of corrupt practices associated with the accused.

The CBI indicated that as the investigation progresses, further legal actions may be anticipated.
