CBI Arrests Central Warehousing Corporation Manager in Bribery Case

New Delhi, April 24: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a manager of the Central Warehousing Corporation in Hazaribagh for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh. This information was disclosed by officials on Friday.

On April 23, the CBI registered a case against the accused, Ravi Ranjan Kumar, who was serving as a manager at the Central Warehousing Corporation in Hazaribagh.

According to the CBI statement, Kumar was accused of demanding a bribe of ₹1 lakh from a complainant. Following this, the agency set a trap to apprehend him successfully.

The complainant alleged that the bribe was solicited in exchange for allowing him to continue work that had already been awarded to him. Taking the complaint seriously, the CBI acted swiftly to catch the accused red-handed.

During the operation, CBI officials caught Kumar accepting the ₹1 lakh bribe from the complainant. This action confirmed the allegations, leading to his immediate arrest.

Officials stated that such actions demonstrate the agency’s commitment to combating corruption in public enterprises and ensuring accountability among government officials. This arrest is part of efforts to enhance transparency in administrative processes and curb corruption.

The CBI has confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. It is also looking into whether others are involved or if there is a larger network of corruption linked to the accused. As the investigation progresses, further legal actions cannot be ruled out.
