Captain Amarinder Singh Condemns Attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal

Chandigarh, August 14: Former Punjab Chief Minister and BJP leader Captain Amarinder Singh has strongly condemned the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal. He stated that there is no place for violence in a civilized society, and incidents like this, especially at a religious site, are extremely reprehensible.

In a post on the social media platform X, Captain Singh wrote, “I strongly condemn the attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal today. There is no place for violence in a civilized society, and such acts become even more condemnable when they occur at a sacred religious site. I am relieved that Sukhbir Singh Badal is safe.”

Captain Singh has called for a thorough investigation by the state administration. He urged officials to ensure that the culprits are punished. “Maintaining law and order is the government’s primary responsibility. Those involved in the attack must be identified and strict action taken against them to prevent such incidents in the future,” he emphasized.

He highlighted the importance of peace and brotherhood in Punjab, stating that the state should not be pushed back into a cycle of violence and hatred. In his post, he wrote, “Punjab must never be allowed to return to a phase of violence and hatred.”

Captain Singh reminded that Punjab has witnessed bitter days of violence in the past. The state has achieved peace after many sacrifices. Any violent incident can escalate tensions in society and directly impact the unity of the region.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken with Sukhbir Singh Badal’s wife, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, to inquire about his health.
