BSP MLA Umashankar Singhs Home Raided, UP Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh Expresses Outrage

Lucknow, February 25: Uttar Pradesh Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh has voiced strong criticism regarding the recent raid on the home of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Umashankar Singh. He targeted the Income Tax Department, stating that not even a nurse or doctor is allowed to enter Singh’s residence. Singh warned that if any harm comes to the MLA, these insensitive institutions would be held responsible.

In a post on the social media platform X, Singh mentioned, “My daughter is married to the MLA from Rasra, Umashankar Singh. The Income Tax Department is conducting a raid at his home.”

He further elaborated, “Leaders from across the country and institutions like the Income Tax Department know that Umashankar Singh has been battling for his life for over two years. Currently, he is spending all his time and resources on survival, not on earning. His businesses have nearly shut down, and he is in isolation at home. The assembly session is crucial for any MLA, yet he cannot attend even for an hour.”

Dinesh Pratap Singh emphasized that no medical personnel are allowed at Singh’s residence. He stated, “If any harm comes to him, these insensitive institutions will be accountable.” He noted that in such dire circumstances, even the rarest of crimes can lead to the courts granting relief based on compassion.

The Income Tax Department conducted raids at multiple locations associated with BSP MLA Umashankar Singh on Wednesday. Reports indicate that raids took place at his residence in Lucknow and other properties in Sonbhadra, as well as at his office and home in Ballia.
