Brutal Stabbing in Mumbai Claims Young Mans Life Amid Neighborhood Dispute

Mumbai, April 24: A 35-year-old man was brutally murdered in the Shivajinagar area of Govandi, Mumbai. The victim, Arif Jamadar, and his family confronted a group of young men for making noise outside their home. In retaliation, the assailants first assaulted the family and then fatally stabbed Arif.

The Shivaji Nagar police have registered a case against the accused: Ayaz Ejaz Sheikh (alias Ajju), Rizwan Qureshi (alias Rizzju), Sohel Qureshi (alias Kalu), Ruhan Sheikh, Adil Patel, Ishaan Qureshi (alias Sonu Tirpat), and Sujal (alias Faiz Syed). All suspects have been arrested.

According to police reports, the victim’s family had gathered on the morning of April 22 to discuss property matters. Around 3:45 AM, Siraj, his father Shabbir, and cousin Altaf were sitting on a bench outside their home when a group of seven young men arrived from a nearby tea shop named Garib Nawaz.

When Shabbir Jamadar asked the group why they were making noise, a dispute quickly escalated. The group began to hurl abuses and physically assaulted Shabbir, Siraj, and Altaf.

As the commotion intensified, other family members came out to intervene. When the family attempted to return inside, Ruhan Sheikh brandished a sword and attempted to stab Siraj in the abdomen. Siraj managed to block the attack with his hand, sustaining severe injuries.

In a bid to protect his family, Arif Jamadar pushed everyone inside and tried to close the door. At that moment, Rizwan stabbed Arif in the chest. Despite his serious injuries, Arif succeeded in locking the door to keep the attackers out.

The assailants continued to terrorize the neighborhood, brandishing weapons and threatening those who tried to help. They allegedly intimidated the family before damaging the door and fleeing the scene. The family rushed the bloodied Arif to Rajawadi Hospital via an auto-rickshaw, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
