Mumbai, 5 January – A bomb threat email sent to Mumbai’s Tata Memorial Hospital on Monday caused immediate concern. The email claimed that an explosive device was planted within the hospital premises.
Upon receiving the information, the hospital administration promptly alerted the Mumbai Police. According to an official police statement, security agencies responded swiftly. Multiple police teams, including the bomb disposal squad and other security units, arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough search operation.
The bomb squad is carefully inspecting the hospital area. Meanwhile, police are investigating the origin and intent of the threatening email to determine whether it is a prank or part of a larger conspiracy. The Cyber Cell is actively examining the email’s technical details to identify the sender.
So far, no suspicious objects have been found, but authorities continue to investigate every possibility as a precaution.
This is not the first time such threats have been made in Mumbai or other parts of the country. On 18 December, a similar bomb threat was received targeting the Bandra court in Mumbai. Police and bomb disposal teams conducted extensive searches but found no explosives.
Earlier, on 1 December, a school in the Santacruz area of Mumbai received a bomb threat. The school administration immediately informed the police, who carried out a detailed search but found no hazardous items. The police later confirmed that the threat was false.
Authorities remain vigilant and continue to prioritize public safety while investigating these incidents.
