Mumbai, April 14 : The most-awaited wedding of the year, involving two of the hottest stars of Tinseltown – Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, took place with much fanfare at their love nest ‘Vastu,’ on Thursday. The fraternity came calling to wish the couple at Ranbir’s flat in Vastu apartments in Bandra’s Pali Hills here. The couple will reportedly make an appearance post 7 pm today. Friends and family members, including Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Soni Razdan, Shaheen Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Karan Johar, Navya Naveli Nanda and Akash Ambani, among others, graced the occasion. The wedding festivities started on Wednesday with a Ganesh Puja at Vaastu exactly on the day 43 years after Neetu Kapoor wedded forever matinee idol and late Rishi Kapoor, who is sorely missed by all. Talking about the much-talked about wedding, Randhir Kapoor told a leading daily, “It is a big day for the family, and Chintu should have been here. We miss him every day, but today we are missing him more. But life goes on. It is nice to see Ranbir and Alia starting this new chapter. Hope Rishi would have been here to witness this moment. I am missing him so much today.” The newlyweds will pose for photographers outside Vastu at around 7 pm. This will be their first appearance as husband and wife. As per sources, Director Karan Johar, who directed Alia’s first movie, got emotional on seeing her as a bride. Dairy brand Amul shared a quirky doodle about the wedding, which feature the cartoon versions of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor dressed in lehenga and sherwani, respectively. Ranbir can be seen feeding Alia a slice of bread smeared with Amul butter. Fashion designer Manish Malhotra also shared a photo from inside the wedding ceremony, featuring Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karan Johar. MYK RJ
