Body of Woman Found Near Pump House in Nalanda, Suspected Suicide

Nalanda, April 2: Police in Nalanda district, Bihar, discovered the body of a woman on Thursday. The body was found near a government pump house in the Bihar police station area. A packet labeled ‘sulfas’ was recovered from the scene, leading authorities to initially suspect suicide.

A police officer reported that the body was located at a construction site near Mahalpar Durga Sthan. The deceased has been identified as Renu Devi, 46, the wife of Jhunnu Ram, a resident of Bengali Road in Mahalpar. Family members revealed that she suffered from epilepsy and was undergoing treatment.

Renu had left her home on Wednesday evening. Her family searched for her late into the night but could not find her. Her body was discovered the following morning. A pair of sandals, believed to belong to her, was also found at the scene.

The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination at a local hospital. They are currently questioning family members and local residents. The area has been secured for investigation, and a forensic team has arrived to examine the site. No visible injuries or marks were found on the body.

During the investigation, a torn packet labeled ‘sulfas’ was found in the deceased’s blouse, raising suspicions that she may have committed suicide by ingesting the substance. However, police are exploring all possible angles in the case.
