Blaze Erupts in Rithala Slums, Nearby Flats and Factory Affected

New Delhi, March 5: A sudden fire broke out early Thursday morning in the slums of Rithala, Delhi. Within minutes, the flames intensified, engulfing several nearby homes. The incident caused panic in the area, prompting the arrival of fire brigade teams. Currently, the situation is reported to be under control.

According to reports, the fire originated in a densely populated slum area filled with temporary structures. The fire control room received the alert at 4:15 AM. In response, the fire brigade dispatched seven vehicles immediately. The fire had spread significantly, destroying numerous shanties over an area of approximately 2,500 square yards. Given the severity of the situation, Fire Officer C.L. Meena upgraded the emergency category and sent an additional 5-7 vehicles by 4:35 AM.

Upon arrival, Officer Meena noted that the fire had also impacted a nearby paper factory and residential flats, resulting in considerable damage. Flames spread inside homes, damaging windows, doors, and meter boxes.

The fire brigade team worked diligently to control the blaze. Officer Meena stated that while the situation is now under control, the damage is extensive. Local administration and fire officials remain on-site, continuing rescue and safety operations. Currently, an assessment of the damage in the Rithala area is underway.

Just a day earlier, a fire incident was reported in the nearby Ghaziabad area of Khoda, where a fire broke out on the ground floor of a residential building, quickly spreading and injuring around 20 to 22 individuals.
