New Delhi, April 9: BJP MP Ghulam Ali Khatana has expressed support for a statement made by the party’s national president, Nitin Naveen, regarding the formation of a double engine government in West Bengal. He stated that the people of Bengal are ready for this change.
In an interview with a news agency in New Delhi, Khatana remarked that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was once concerned about Bangladeshi immigrants, is now increasingly worried about Bengal itself.
Khatana emphasized that the resources of the country rightfully belong to its citizens. He believes that the people of Bengal have decided that the next government will be a ‘double engine’ one under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, and there is no doubt about it.

Regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill, Khatana mentioned that PM Modi has called for a special three-day session to discuss women’s reservation. He expressed confidence that all political parties would support this initiative, ensuring that women, daughters, and mothers receive 33 percent reservation in Parliament and state assemblies.
Supporting a statement by PM Modi, Khatana contrasted the previous Congress governments, which he claimed focused on division and governance, with Modi’s vision of treating 1.4 billion Indians as a family.
