New Delhi, March 20 : The wait for the new Chief Minister of Manipur seems to finally get over as BJP’s central leaders observers – on Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and on Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju are scheduled to visit the North Eastern state on Sunday. “Looking forward to being in Manipur today. Meet with BJP Manipur karyakarta. Joining me are Kiren Rijiju, Bhupender Yadav and Sambit Patra,” Sitharaman tweeted. The saffron party has appointed Sitharaman and Rijiju as observer and co-observer for Manipur to look after the election of leader of BJP Legislature Party in Manipur. According to sources, they are likely to hold a meeting with the newly elected MLAs later in the day. Since after the Assembly election results, the names of acting CM N Biren Singh, who retained the Hengiang seat with a huge margin of 18,671 votes, and Thongam Biswajit Singh have been reportedly doing rounds for the CM post. The caretaker CM, who visited the national capital twice, amid speculation over the new CM, had earlier categorically said that “BJP’s central leadership will decide on who will be the next CM”.
