New Delhi, April 18: BJP women MPs staged a strong protest against the opposition following the rejection of the constitutional amendment bill related to the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha. Outside the house, BJP members raised slogans and accused the opposition of betraying women.
Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu criticized the opposition, stating, “This should not be taken lightly. It seems as if even God is watching from above and expressing sorrow and regret over what has happened. Even enemies do not behave this way. If our mothers and sisters had gained 200-300 seats, what harm would it have caused?”
BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut expressed her emotions, saying, “This is a very shameful atmosphere. I believe nothing is more unfortunate and tragic than this. The Congress party and the opposition have crossed all limits of injustice. They have shown deep disrespect towards women and today they have completely demoralized the daughters of India.”
BJP MP Lakshmi Verma stated, “The Congress party has always had an anti-women policy, and today this has been proven once again.”
TDP MP Krishna Prasad Teneti remarked, “This is very sad, as we had high hopes. If the Women’s Reservation Bill passed in 2023 had increased the number of seats to 850 and this bill had also passed, it would have provided 250 seats for women in the Lok Sabha. However, opposition parties united to defeat this bill in the Lok Sabha.”
LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary declared, “In my view, India is the world’s largest democracy, and today is a black day for all our mothers and sisters.”
RLD leader KC Tyagi called it a conspiracy against women’s empowerment, stating, “Today the opposition has worked to undermine the government’s efforts.”
BJP National President Nitin Naveen said, “The way Rahul Gandhi and his team have betrayed half of the country’s population, I believe today should have been a day to ensure more rights and participation for women, but instead, Congress has deprived them of their rights.”
