BJP to Expand in Minority Areas of Assam Without Compromising Ideology, Says Himanta Biswa Sarma
Assams Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirms BJPs expansion in minority areas while maintaining its ideological stance.

Guwahati, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue its organizational expansion in minority-dominated areas, emphasizing that the party will not compromise its core ideology. Speaking at a core committee meeting in Guwahati, Sarma highlighted an increase in the party’s vote share in these regions, reflecting its growing political and organizational presence.
He made it clear that the BJP would not weaken its foundational principles for electoral gains. The Chief Minister’s message was straightforward: the expansion of the organization will persist, but there will be no concessions on ideological matters.
Addressing social issues, Sarma reiterated the state government’s stance on practices like child marriage and polygamy, stating that it is essential to eliminate these traditions. He pointed out that while strengthening the party’s base in minority areas, the BJP would not waver from its position on these critical issues.
Sarma’s remarks come at a crucial time as the BJP seeks to broaden its political footprint in Assam, particularly in constituencies with significant minority voter populations. His statements indicate the party’s intention to balance organizational growth with its declared ideological commitments, especially regarding long-discussed topics like child marriage and polygamy. The BJP government has consistently highlighted legislative and administrative measures taken to combat these practices.
The Chief Minister’s latest comments suggest that the BJP will pursue its strategy to enhance its reach and organizational network in minority areas while firmly maintaining its stance on social and ideological issues.
