New Delhi, May 15: BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala launched a sharp attack on DMK, Congress, and TVK on Friday. He claimed that these parties are all part of the same group and that their politics is rooted in disrespect for Sanatan Dharma and Hindu values.
Poonawala stated, “First, Udhayanidhi Stalin spoke about abolishing Sanatan Dharma, which Congress supported. Subsequently, their legislators echoed similar sentiments. After that, TVK and its affiliated leaders repeated the same statements.”
He accused the opposition parties of continuously attacking Hindu beliefs and Sanatan, asserting that the public has become aware of their political strategies.
Regarding the political landscape in West Bengal, Poonawala noted that the public fully supported the BJP and formed the government, but he criticized the politics of dynastic rule, which he claimed is focused on resource exploitation.
He pointed out that when Congress or Congress-supported governments are formed in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the opposition deems the electoral process entirely fair. However, when faced with the possibility of defeat, they begin questioning the Election Commission.
Poonawala remarked that the allegations against the Election Commission are merely excuses to evade accountability for electoral losses.
He also commented on the SIR Phase 3 initiative, where the Election Commission announced the removal of fake, duplicate, and illegal names from voter lists across 16 states and three union territories. He described this process as entirely constitutional and legal, aimed at purifying the voter registry.
Additionally, BJP spokesperson Shah Nawaz Hussain supported the SIR process, stating that in areas where it has been implemented, voter turnout has reached between 90% and 93%.
He emphasized that this initiative removes the names of fraudulent voters, ensuring voting rights for genuine voters. It also eliminates individuals registered in multiple locations, thereby enhancing the transparency of the electoral process.
