BJP Protests Nationwide Over JNU Sexual Harassment Case, Questions Rahul Gandhis Silence

New Delhi, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : The BJP has launched nationwide protests in response to sexual harassment allegations involving Congress MP Angomcha Bimol Akhoijam from Manipur, linked to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). BJP leader Tuhin Sinha criticized the Congress leadership for their silence on the issue, directly questioning Rahul Gandhi about when he would break his silence.

Sinha stated that the allegations emerged following complaints from female students, leading to Akhoijam’s dismissal from the university. He accused the Congress of failing to publicly condemn the situation or provide a clear statement regarding the matter. Sinha expressed frustration over what he described as Rahul Gandhi’s double standards, urging the party to clarify its position.

In his remarks, Sinha referenced recent protests led by Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, suggesting that the Congress leadership should address the serious allegations against their party member and take appropriate action, including expulsion from the party.

Bihar BJP chief Sanjay Sarawagi emphasized the gravity of the accusations, which involve attempts at sexual exploitation in exchange for academic grades. He questioned why Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, who often champion women’s rights, remain silent on this issue.

In Rajasthan, the BJP’s women’s wing staged a protest outside the Congress state office in Jaipur, voicing their outrage over the allegations against Akhoijam and advocating for the dignity and justice for the affected students. Similar demonstrations occurred in Haryana, demanding accountability on matters concerning women’s safety and respect.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police addressed rumors circulating on social media regarding Abhijit Dipke, founder of the CJP, asserting that he was informed about his grandmother’s passing with sensitivity and that assistance was offered for him to return to his hometown for the funeral.
