BJP President Nitin Naveen Begins Two-Day Visit to West Bengal

Kolkata, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Indian Prime Minister Nitin Naveen, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is embarking on a two-day visit to West Bengal starting Tuesday. This trip marks his first visit to the state following the announcement of a new central committee and subsequent organizational changes within the party.

According to a member of the state committee, Naveen is scheduled to arrive in the state on September 15. He will hold several organizational meetings with state party leaders. Accompanying him will be B.L. Santosh, the party’s All India General Secretary (Organization). Discussions will likely cover various issues, including the formation of the new state committee and necessary organizational adjustments.

During this two-day visit, both Naveen and Santosh are expected to provide guidance to ensure better coordination between the party’s organization and the state government.

Reports indicate that since the BJP came to power in the state following the West Bengal Assembly elections, there has been a significant improvement in the party’s organizational strength at the district level. However, both state and central leadership have noted several organizational shortcomings that need addressing.

Concerns have begun to arise regarding the roles of certain party leaders and workers at the grassroots level. Allegations of corruption have surfaced, along with reports of disagreements between new and old party members in various areas. A state committee member mentioned that these issues could be discussed in meetings chaired by Naveen at the end of this month.

Additionally, the state committee member revealed that discussions regarding the party’s strategy for the crucial urban body elections, including those for municipal corporations and municipalities at the end of this year, will also take place during Naveen’s visit. The state BJP is particularly focused on the upcoming elections for the Kolkata and Howrah municipal corporations. The party has already begun strategizing for these elections, aiming to enhance organizational coordination among grassroots leaders and workers. With the national president’s visit, further messaging on this front is anticipated.
