Bhagalpur, April 5: BJP MP Manan Kumar Mishra has condemned the attack on judicial officials from Odisha and Jharkhand during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in West Bengal. Speaking to reporters, Mishra described the incident as “very sad and shameful.” He emphasized that the Supreme Court appointed these officials to ensure a fair voter list, allowing them to work without local pressure. “These officials were diligently fulfilling their duties as observers. A correct and impartial voter list is crucial for elections, but unfortunately, these officials were attacked,” he stated.
Mishra accused TMC workers in West Bengal of challenging the Supreme Court and the Election Commission with such incidents. He asserted that any attempt to influence the fair electoral process poses a threat to democracy.
Additionally, Mishra praised the recently passed ‘Jan Vishwas Act’ by the central government, stating, “This act aims to strengthen public trust. The confidence of the people in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is already evident. Through this act, outdated, complex, and unnecessary provisions in existing laws have been rectified. Parliament has passed it to restore and enhance public trust.”
Mishra also launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following the removal of national spokesperson Raghav Chadha from the position of deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha. He remarked, “The AAP is a ‘use and throw’ party. There is no place for sensible and independent thinkers in Arvind Kejriwal’s party. They only want individuals who can spread confusion, be easily used, and never raise questions.”
He claimed that Chadha’s removal exemplifies this mentality and criticized the lack of internal democracy within the AAP, asserting that Kejriwal runs the party according to his whims.
