BJP Leaders Accuse Congress of Undermining Indias Strength Ahead of BRICS Summit

New Delhi, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : The ongoing BRICS summit in New Delhi has sparked sharp reactions from leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding questions raised by the Congress party. They assert that Congress does not want India or its economy to thrive, suggesting that the opposition party aims to weaken the nation in any way possible.

Dilip Jayaswal, a minister in the Bihar government, criticized Congress for what he termed its propaganda against BRICS. He stated, “The narrative being pushed by Congress shows they do not wish to see India or its economy grow. Their agenda seems to be focused on thwarting every effort toward national strength.”

BJP leader Mrityunjay Tiwari highlighted the significance of the BRICS summit, noting the participation of representatives from numerous countries. He emphasized that this event showcases the central government’s global stature under Prime Minister Modi. “Today, India stands proudly on the world stage, and this summit will reflect that strength,” he said.

Tiwari also expressed pride that Bihar’s local delicacies, sattu and makhana, will be featured in the welcome kits for delegates at the summit. “This inclusion is a testament to how the central government cares for all states,” he added.

BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Dev remarked on the importance of the summit, which includes leaders like Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He noted that BRICS has its own bank, making it a crucial platform for enhancing trade and fostering regional cooperation. He dismissed Congress’s skepticism, particularly from former finance minister P. Chidambaram, stating, “If we listened to them, India wouldn’t participate in any international organization. They might even question our need for the UN or the IMF.”

Shashank Mani Tripathi, a BJP MP, described the summit as a significant achievement for both the country and Prime Minister Modi. He pointed out that BRICS brings together countries from the Global South, extending beyond just five nations, and is currently being led by Modi.

The discussions surrounding the BRICS summit reflect broader political dynamics in India, with the BJP positioning itself as a champion of national strength against perceived opposition attempts to undermine it.
