New Delhi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Senior BJP leader RP Singh has accused the Congress party of engaging in political theatrics regarding the purification incident in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. He stated that the Congress National President’s presence in the area hindered the purification process. Singh questioned the motives of those who conducted the purification, noting that they belong to the Dalit community themselves. “Why would they act against their own community?” he asked.
Singh’s remarks come in light of a complaint filed by Bengaluru police against BJP leaders in connection with this matter. In an interview, he asserted that the police have the jurisdiction to handle such complaints, and anyone can file one. He emphasized the significance of the location, where religious events and Ram Leela performances have traditionally taken place. According to Singh, the discovery of liquor bottles following a Congress event prompted the need for purification.
He further criticized the Congress for allegedly politicizing the issue, stating, “They will do anything for politics.” Singh maintained that the misuse of the religious platform justified the purification efforts.
Addressing the demolition of an illegal mosque in Saharanpur, Singh explained that it was constructed within the district magistrate’s office premises. He noted that a court had deemed it illegal and unauthorized, leading to the bulldozer action. “How can a mosque be approved on government land?” he questioned.
In response to opposition leaders’ comments regarding the theft of donations at the Ram Temple, Singh assured that actions are being taken against those involved, with eight individuals currently in jail.
On Prime Minister Modi‘s recent visit to Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Singh highlighted that this was the Prime Minister‘s second visit, following his initial trip during the election campaign. He noted Modi’s engagement with students and his encouragement for ministers to interact with them as well.
Discussing the Supreme Court’s endorsement of the Special Identification Register (SIR), Singh mentioned that it is facilitating the purification of voter lists. He remarked that both Congress and the TVK are dreaming of the Prime Minister’s position, but emphasized that the role will remain vacant until 2047. He concluded that there is a clear lack of coordination between the two parties.
