Bengaluru, April 13: The President of the Karnataka BJP and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra has claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the only party that has given proper respect to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, since independence. He accused the Congress party of disrespecting Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Vijayendra made these remarks during the lighting ceremony held at the statue of Ambedkar in Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, to commemorate his birth anniversary.
He stated that Prime Minister Modi has undertaken the commendable task of developing five significant sites associated with Ambedkar, including his birthplace and place of work, thus fulfilling his vision.
In contrast, he criticized the Congress party, alleging that it exploits Dalits and marginalized communities merely as a ‘vote bank’ while committing injustices against them.
He noted that the 135th birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar will be celebrated tomorrow (Tuesday), and in this context, several programs are being organized across the country under the guidance of the Prime Minister and the directives of BJP National President Nitin Naveen.
Vijayendra emphasized that the BJP aims to spread Ambedkar’s message to the people and the entire nation.
The event was attended by former Deputy Chief Minister and MP Govind Karjol, member of the B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti National Committee and former state secretary Jagdish Hiremani, Bengaluru South District President and MLA C.K. Ramamurthy, Bengaluru North District President S. Harish, and Bengaluru Central District President Saptagiri Gowda.
The Karnataka unit of the BJP has announced a series of events from April 13 to 20 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Jagdish Hiremani, a member of the B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti National Committee and former state secretary of the BJP, stated that various programs will be organized throughout the state from April 13 to 20 to promote Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideology.
