New Delhi, May 9: Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government in West Bengal, party leaders expressed optimism about a transformative era for the state. They described this moment as a ‘second independence’ for West Bengal, following the end of British rule. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they believe the state will embark on a path of development.
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari is set to become the first Chief Minister of West Bengal from the party. BJP MP Raju Bista emphasized the significance of this moment, stating that while the nation has experienced one independence, West Bengal has witnessed two—one from the British and the other from the Congress, CPM, and Trinamool Congress.
He further noted that the people of West Bengal are eager to progress alongside the nation. BJP MP Jyotirmay Singh Mahto criticized the Trinamool Congress for allegedly governing only for a specific community. He asserted that the upcoming government will adhere to the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Vishwas’ under Modi’s leadership.
Mahto also declared that the people of West Bengal will no longer accept the Trinamool Congress. He anticipates that the swearing-in ceremony will be a historic event.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva remarked that forming a government in West Bengal is crucial for the party. He claimed that the state has been deprived of development and has instead been known for exploitation and infiltration.
Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari, extended her best wishes to the new government, attributing its formation to the hard work of many. She stated that the era of ‘gunda raj’, oppression, and appeasement politics in Bengal is coming to an end.
