Kolkata, May 10: Following the formation of a BJP government in West Bengal, the party is focused on regaining public trust. Minister Dilip Ghosh stated that today is a holiday, and a meeting will take place on Monday to discuss several key decisions. “We are working to earn the trust of the people,” he remarked.
In a conversation with the media, Ghosh emphasized, “Our priority is to rebuild Bengal from the ground up, as many systems have deteriorated. Law and order is weak, and people have been living in fear for years. The education system is lacking, healthcare is in disarray, and job opportunities are minimal.”
He added that party leaders are in discussions to assign responsibilities and roles to expedite development in West Bengal. “Our focus is on addressing public issues. We are committed to improving education, healthcare, and industry. We will start working immediately, and you will see changes.”
Ghosh reiterated the need to restore law and order in Bengal, stating, “People have lived in fear. We must work on everything, and while it will take time, we will begin immediately, and you will witness the transformation.”
He highlighted that the BJP made history by winning 207 seats in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, ending the 15-year rule of the Trinamool Congress, which secured only 80 seats. “The public already believes that the BJP can lead West Bengal’s development,” he noted.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Minister Danish Azad Ansari stated, “The development of West Bengal is a priority for the BJP. Prime Minister Modi has made a promise of development to the people there, and we are committed to fulfilling it. It is essential to strengthen law and order in West Bengal to protect the interests of Indians, and work must be done on education, healthcare, and employment.”
