Bihar Police Capture Notorious Criminal Rahul Singh with a Bounty of ₹25,000

Saharsa, February 24: In a significant operation, Bihar police have intensified their efforts to apprehend wanted criminals in Saharsa district. On Tuesday, they achieved a major breakthrough by arresting Rahul Singh, a notorious criminal wanted for robbery and violations of the Arms Act, who also carries a bounty of ₹25,000.

Saharsa’s Superintendent of Police, Himanshu, confirmed that a continuous campaign is underway against wanted offenders in the district. He noted that Rahul Singh, who has a lengthy criminal record, was successfully apprehended.

Rahul Singh was being sought in connection with an attempted murder case and violations of the Arms Act in the Mahishi police jurisdiction. Allegations suggest that he and his accomplices assaulted a complainant at their home, fired shots to instill fear, and issued death threats. Following the incident, he had been on the run.

To address the seriousness of the situation, a special team was formed under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, which included personnel from the district intelligence unit and Mahishi police.

The special team utilized technical evidence analysis and human intelligence gathering to strategically execute the operation, leading to the arrest of the infamous criminal Rahul Singh, who hails from Mahapura village in the Mahishi area. The Superintendent of Police indicated that Singh is wanted in multiple cases related to attempted murder and violations of liquor prohibition laws.

Over a dozen serious criminal cases have been registered against him in Saharsa district, primarily involving the Arms Act, attempted murder, and robbery among other serious charges. Police are currently interrogating him and working to identify his accomplices.
